Which of these score lines shocked you the most?

At this point, we’re all trying to catch our breath with the back-to-back football games. There’s a football game twice or three times every week. Although football lovers and bettors aren’t complaining, the footballers are feeling the brunt of the jampacked fixture schedule and it is beginning to reflect in their performances and in the results.

Here are some of the most shocking results this weekend across different European leagues:

1. Aston Villa 1-1 Manchester City

With the form of Erling Haaland and City, this one looked like a mismatch on paper but the opposite was the case on the field. Although City went ahead in the 50th minute thanks to a Haaland goal, they found it hard to score another.

Villa increased the pressure and pulled one back in the 74th minute. They scored another goal later on after a lot of piled pressure but it was disallowed by V.A.R.

Villa somehow managed to seal the score line at 1-1 and walked away with a point. I’m guessing for City and Pep, it is more of 2 points dropped than 1 point gained.

2. Union Berlin 1-1 Bayern Munich

It is not even November yet and Union is already having a stellar season. This season alone they’ve beaten RB Leipzig 2 goals to 1 and also pummelled Schalke 04 by 6 goals to 1. This weekend they managed to secure a point against almighty Bayern Munich holding them to a 1-1 draw.

A worrying sign for Julian Nagelsmann and Bayern because this is their second draw in back-back league games. Bayern are now third on the league table.

3. Celtic 4-0 Rangers

The Old Firm derby between Celtic and Rangers is one of the most competitive rivalry games in the world of football and it is always a tough game for both clubs. This particular match, however, was a one-way show.

Scottish champions Celtic pummelled Rangers by 4 goals to nil. Celtic are now top of the league table and 5 points clear of Rangers who are in second place.

4. Udinese 4-0 A.S Roma

Mourinho and Roma looked like they were having a fairy tale season with 3 wins and 1 draw in their first 4 games of the season. Sadly, Udinese came through to ruin the party in the 5th game with a commanding 4-0 win.

Roma was stunned and now they are 5th on the league table.

5. Brighton 5-2 Leicester City

Brendan Rogers might just be the next Premier League manager to lose his job because the bad results just keep piling up for Leicester City. They are currently last on the league table with zero wins after 6 games.

Brighton on the other hand is cruising this season. They are 4th on the league table after 6 games and the huge win against Leicester just solidified their position for 1 more week.

Our own Kelechi Iheanacho scored for Leicester, anyway.
