Can Arsenal win the Premier League?

Ardent football followers will say that we are gradually getting to the point of the season where the men will be separated from the boys. Soon the league table will start taking shape and the actual title contenders will be made known. 

In the Premier League, one unlikely contender seems to be showing a lot of promise and that contender is Arsenal. They have maintained their impeccable form this season and over the weekend they defeated Liverpool FC by 3 goals to 2 at the Emirates stadium.

That victory returned them to the summit of the Premier League table, 1 point away from champions Manchester City who got a 4-nil win against Southampton. Chelsea dismantled Wolverhampton Wanderers by 3 goals to nil while Tottenham managed a 1-nil win away to Brighton and Hove Albion. Newcastle are up to 6th on the Premier League table thanks to a resounding 5-1 win against Brentford.

Westham United got a much-needed victory against Fulham while Leicester City lost to Bournemouth. Liverpool are now 10th on the table after the defeat at Arsenal. Manchester United moved up to 5th on the table with a hard-fought 2-1 win against Everton. Cristiano Ronaldo reached another milestone record with his goal in that game. He has now scored 700 career club goals. 

In La Liga, Real Madrid and Barcelona both won their games against Getafe and Celta Vigo respectively. Barcelona are still top of the league table and Madrid close in second but both teams are still unbeaten in the league. Athletic club Bilbao continued their impressive start to the season with another draw against Sevilla which moves them up to 3rd on the La Liga table while Atletico Madrid are close in 4th place. 

In Serie A, Ac Milan secured a 2-nil victory against Juventus, Inter also got the maximum 3 points against Sassuolo. Udinese and Atalanta played out a 2-2 draw while Roma secured all three points against Lecce. Napoli continued their impeccable league form as they dismantled new boys Cremonese by 4 goals to 1. Napoli remains top of the league Unbeaten, Atalanta and Udinese in second and third respectively. Champions AC Milan are 4th while. Lazio could move up to 3rd if they win their fixture against Fiorentina.

In the Bundesliga, Der Klassiker between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich ended 2-2 in a rather dramatic fashion with Dortmund grabbing a late goal in that game. Bayer Leverkusen started life under new manager, Xabi Alonso, with a magnificent 4-nil win against Schalke 04. Borrusia Monchengladbach dismantled Koln by 5 goals to 2 while Freiburg played a 2-2 draw with Hertha Berlin. 

League leaders Union Berlin showed no signs of slowing down as they grabbed another victory against Stuttgart. Union Berlin and Freiburg are 1st and 2nd respectively on the Bundesliga table while Bayern Munich and Dortmund are 3rd and 4th respectively.
