Wake Up! Collect your money
Just when we thought we were cooling from the Buga fever, Kizz Daniel chose to turn up the heat again with the Buga official video he dropped on the 22nd of June, 2022.
The visuals applies the right amount of pressure in all the right places. Somebody help! We can’t seem to get over Buga and these are five reasons why:
1. Kizz Daniel Never Disappoints
A king, we stan and restan. Kizz Daniel literally has no bad songs. From when he gave us Woju in 2016, he has continued to prove himself over the years.
His lyrics, beats and melody are a mix that has kept us amazed. Not him saying he wishes to perform BUGA at the World Cup coming up at Qatar. Who go fit lap me go Qatar abeg😭?
2. The Tekno Collab
Most of us can agree that we’ve been ‘Tekno-starved’ for a while now. We were 🤌this close to going to Tekno’s house ourselves, dragging him to the studio, and chaining him there till he dropped something for his fans.
Kizz Daniel took that right out of our hands with the Tekno collabo–that’s a man who knows the heart of his people– and Tekno delivered as usual.
3. Buga Is A Hustlers’ Anthem
Buga is wake up call, literally. Motivation no pass like this: “Hey! Don’t Sleep! Don’t Sleep! Wake up! Collect your money!”
Sometimes, we need to be reminded why we started in the first place–and Buga did just that. The catchy lyrics of the song cuts into the heart of our hustling spirit as Nigerians.
4. It Was TikTok Approved
To say that the TikTok streets received Buga with open arms is an understatement. Kizz Daniel not only gave us a banger but he also gave us a new TikTok sound and dance challenge.
The Buga movement saw people of all ages and backgrounds doing the ” Lo lo lo”. As confirm steppers from UAR , any song that comes with its own dance step gains national recognition fast.
5. Ut Encourages Us To Flaunt It
Buga in this context means to puff your shoulders and flaunt it. For those of us who were already having a hard time being humble, Buga made things worse. Now more than ever, we are inspired to press necks. Call it Vanity. Sometimes we love vanity.
If you have suffered in public, it is only proper that you enjoy in public.
