The fugitive blood sisters!
You’re wrong if you haven’t watched Blood Sisters–a recently released EbonyLife production that is streaming exclusively on Netflix.
The thriller series features Nollywood A-list actors like Deyemi Okanlawon, Ini Dima-Okojie, Ramsey Nouah and Wale Ojo and is a must-watch if you want to feast on something suspenseful, different and Nigerian.
You’re still wrong if you have watched but didn’t pick a lesson or two from the four-part series. Not to worry though, we got you covered with these 5 take-home lessons:
1. Don’t Ignore The Red Flags
Is your partner overly controlling? Does he/she have anger issues? Do they hit you? Curse at you?
Well, take it from us and Sarah in Blood Sisters; it’s best to not wait till it’s your wedding day to call it quits. Run as soon as you notice those red flashes. Red flags are signs of imminent danger and it NEVER ends well whenever they are ignored.
What is a fact is that if Kemi hadn’t pulled that trigger it was going to be RIP Sarah Duru and not RIP Kola Ademola. Phew!
2. Friends That Always Have Your Back Are Raw Gold
Blood Sisters taught us that we all need that one friend that we can count on to always be there for us; someone who will save our life a couple of times–and maybe even kill for us.
Kemi and Sarah’s friendship was enviable; the way they stood by each other through all the hurdles. They both definitely knew what it meant to be a ride or die.
However, it’s noteworthy to mention that no one ever got away with murder by digging and burying victim in a shallow grave. It’s called six feet under for a reason girls!
3. Relationship Chemistry Is Everything
You know what is better than getting married to the love of your life? It’s having chemistry with the love of your life.
And we don’t mean just chemistry; we’re talking about the undeniable, electrifying, mind blowing chemistry that still remains after many years of marriage with a kid to show for it.
Femi and Yinka Ademola were evil–talk about giving us Bonnie and Clyde vibes. However, we can’t deny that they made us realize how important chemistry is.
4. What Is Worth Doing Is Worth Doing Well
Of what good is a chef who cannot cook? Or an assassin who cannot assassinate?
Uncle assassin in Blood Sisters was paid handsomely to do one job: Get rid of Kola Ademola. But what did he do instead? He used the money to learn how to frown like a pro and forgot the job at hand.
What kind of assassin intentionally gets his target to notice him, then goes on to have his ass kicked by this target. Too shameful! SMH! Downside of lying on your CV.
5. Never Underestimate The Quiet Guy
Uncle B stans gather round. It’s ironic how in all four episodes of Blood Sisters, Uncle B muttered not up to two complete sentences.
Yet he was always saving the day–for the Ademola’s at least. From treating Kenny’s wedding fuck-up, hijacking Timeyin from a wild club scene, walking through fire at Makoko to eventually capturing the fugitive girls.
Now we know better than to underestimate the quiet guy at work or school; sometimes less is more.
