All the winners and Losers from match week 2
The second round of games in the Europa League and Conference league didn’t produce many surprises or upsets at all just majorly routine wins for most of the big sides in the competition. Arsenal’s game against Dutch club PSV Eindhoven was postponed because of the death of the Queen in England and the unavailability of security officials for the game.
Manchester United on the other hand recovered from their bad start in the competition by defeating Moldovan side FC Sheriff by 2 goals to nil. Both goals were scored by Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Jose Mourinho’s A.S Roma also recovered from their shaky start in the competition by defeating Finnish side HJK by 3 goals to nil. Dutch side Feyenoord were in red hot form as they mauled Austrian side Sturm Graz by 6 goals to nil. Four of the most shocking defeats on the night came from group f, group g, and group h.
In group f, Danish club Midtjylland defeated Italian club Lazio by 5 goals to 1. In group g, German club Freiburg defeated Greek giants Olympiacos by 3 goals to nil. In the smae group, Qarabag stunned Nantes by defeating them by 3 goals to nil.
In group H, French giants Monaco were defeated by Hungarian club Ferencvaros by a lone goal.
In the Conference league, it was just a routine win for most of the big sides. Westham, Villareal, Gent, and Az Alkmaar all picked up maximum points in their games. The biggest defeat in this round was Italian club Fiorentina losing to Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehirby 3 goals to nil.
