Who’s your money on? Joshua or Usyk?
It is no news that the last time both boxers fought at the Tottenham Hotspurs stadium in 2021, Anthony Joshua lost the bout by unanimous decision. It was an overall boxing master class from the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk despite the fact that he had just moved to the heavyweight division 2 years ago.
Anyway, after Joshua lost the bout, he immediately activated the rematch clause in the deal signed and preparations have been going on ever since for the rematch to happen. Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has now confirmed that the deal for the bout to happen has been signed.
The bout will take place in Saudi Arabia sometime in August 2022 and we can’t wait for it because Joshua’s promoter has promised that we will see a different side of Anthony Joshua in this bout. Anyway, I know my Naija people will be rooting for him regardless.
There are also rumors that the current WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury might just sign a deal that would see him fight the winner between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua. Fury initially said his fight with Dillian Whyte was going to be the last of his boxing career but he might just be considering one last dance.
