Night time productivity!

Getting to relax and get some new feelings set in place about your work will certainly help you with dealing with each day as they go by. As some people have established morning routines to help them tackle their mornings better, some people have also established night routines to help them unwind before they head to bed.

When you go to bed with less weight or worries about the day, you get more rest and your mind is calmer the next day and more ready to tackle the day. However, if you go to sleep with things on your mind either relating to your personal life or work life, you will still have those things on your mind when you wake up. That isn’t how to help your mind or body get better or increase your productivity.

By unwinding, you give yourself the chance to let the weights bothering you off your chest and focus on the next thing: getting rest. You should carry this routine out at night when you’re ready to sleep.

1. Set The Vibe

You can do this by turning on scented candles or just preparing the room before you go into it. It can be done by using an air freshener to brighten the scent in the room. Setting the vibe prepares your body and once you keep up this habit, your body will get the message that it’s time to relax whenever you do.

Even if candles aren’t your things, you can simply set the mood by lowly playing music in the background. Depending on how you want to feel for the night, you can either go for a danceable playlist or a relaxing one. Dancing is an exercise, and it helps your body to feel prepared for sleep.

The two things that matter in setting the vibe are scent, ventilation, and also music. If you don’t want to listen to music though, that’s fine too.

2. Reflect On the Day

How your day went reflects on your mood at the end. You might find it easier to not think about it, but it’s good to recall the events of the day, so you’re able to get anything that’s bothering you off your mind. Recalling it should also be written.

While some people carry out their journaling first thing in the morning to share how their day went the day before and their expectations for the day ahead, you can also use it for something similar. Here, though, you will narrate what happened as they did and ‌you can even highlight the best part or worst parts of your day alone. It can be the part of your day that has impacted you positively or negatively. You can also highlight how you intend to tackle such a problem next time.

Positive things should be followed with gratitude, and when you highlight them, you can state what you’re grateful for.

I’m grateful for the meal I got from my friend today…

I’m grateful for… I’m grateful to…

We’re not the same time of people and not everyone can endure writing the details of their whole day, but if you can, that’s okay as well.

3. Connect To Disconnect

Depending on how religious or spiritual you are, you can choose this time to pray, meditate, or affirm about the next day, or even the day that just ended. You can connect with the universe however you please by taking at least five minutes out of your time to do this. There are meditation techniques out there that you can practice letting go and maintain awareness.

Prayers can go in whichever direction you want it to go as long as each word of prayer comes from your heart. You can pray over whatever comes to your heart or simply pray about the events of the next day. All that matters is the truthfulness in each word as you go on with it.

‘I am…’ affirmations are to encourage and motivate you to believe in yourself a little more and help you with seeing things a bit more clearly if you don’t already.

4. Prepare for the next day

Getting prepared a night before work helps you to remain put together through your day because you have fewer things to worry about. If something urgent comes up, you know you already sorted the areas that could delay you. Look at your mornings and see what delays are while you’re getting ready for work or your day. Do you feel tired in the mornings? Too tired that you can barely think of work or getting ready? Try sleeping earlier than you’re used to and cultivate the habit of sleeping and waking up at a particular time every day. Once your body adapts to this habit, you will be better equipped to deal with your day.

Get your outfit ready, put the pieces together and iron them if they’re too rumpled for you to wear the next day. You can also prepare your breakfast the night before or if it’s your lunch for work and keep it in your fridge so you only have to warm it the next day. Put the items in your bag beforehand as well, so you don’t forget to take anything along.

Also, note the tasks you have at hand the night before. If you need to purchase items or whatnot, write them down. Humans are prone to errors and even if you say you won’t forget, you might. No one is perfect, and it is okay to have countermeasures ready to tackle them.

5. Unwind

Screen time while preparing for bed isn’t too good, but you can prepare for sleep by taking a soothing shower again to calm your mind. This will help you feel more relaxed as you go to bed. You should ensure that you have minimal screen time once you’re preparing to sleep. If you’re feeling restless and unable to sleep, you can try some yoga.

No, you don’t need a mat or any special item to do yoga. You can even carry it out on your bed to help your body slow down some more. Putting your feet on the wall doesn’t make you a witch like some myths say, and it is actually a good yoga position for you to try. Staying in this position for a while will help your body relax.

Taking these into consideration and carrying them out will certainly help you with getting your night set and your morning planned for. It is good to have a routine and establish a bit of regularity in your daily life.
