I bet you are guilty of number 6!

Moisturizers are unarguably one of the heavy-weights in every serious skin care routine and though it is a lot of work, we can’t deny that it is always rewarding.

However, it is not uncommon to see that even after performing this sacred ritual, our skin fail to give as is expected, in which case the moisturizer becomes the prime suspect.

You may be right–or VERY wrong–especially if you are doing these six things which are the wrong ways to wear any moisturizer. Let’s see.

1. Using It On Your Dry Skin

The first mistake of many in the vast world of skin care routine is wearing moisturizer on dry skin. It is a moisturizer not Kainji Dam.

Its main role is to lock in existing moisture in your skin, so you have to use it when your face is damp.

2. Forgetting Your Neck

If you are guilty of this, you are not only damaging your skin, you are also dancing zanku with a wrinkly neck. There is no way you are getting the full benefits of a moisturizer when you boycott your own neck.  No way!

You must pay attention to your neck as you do the rest of your face so that you can glow to no end.

3. Using It Once In A While

See, we know how quickly the thrill of a new skin care product fades away, but it is very important that you always follow through with any routine you start to the end.

As with everything in life; consistency is key.

4. Wearing The Same Moisturizer Morning and Night

Now you can agree that this is in no way the moisturizer’s fault. Light moisturizers containing SPF and antioxidants are best suited for the a.m while heavy duty ones work for the night time.

5. Applying Perfume On Sensitive Skin

Yes but this is definitely not an excuse to stop wearing perfumes. If you badger your skin with fragrances when your moisturizer hasn’t cooled, you are calling on disaster.

PS: Perfumes come as scented and unscented; the only way to know for sure is to check the ingredients before using.

6. Rubbing Too Hard

Dragging your skin like ponmo instead of being gentle with it is another way you may be sabotaging the work of your moisturizer.

Here’s what to do instead: Apply moisturizer in circular motions on your skin with clean fingertips; ring finger for the delicate skin under your eye. Shikena!
