Which of the jerseys stands out for you?
Every World cup year, the participating teams always ensure that they show up with their best jersey design, and truth be told it is always a colorful affair. I remember the Super Eagles of Nigeria having one of the best jerseys of the last world cup. Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing them at the Mundial this year.
Let’s run you through some of the jerseys that have been released:
1. Argentina’s Away Kit
It was designed by Adidas and it is already one of the best-looking jerseys that would be on display at the World Cup. It has a rather unique purple color and another shade of purple for the details on the shirt and on the sleeves.
Argentina will be in the same World cup group as Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Poland.
2. Mexico’s Away Kit
The Jersey is supposed to represent the nation’s indigenous roots. The details on the jersey are breathtaking with the white shirt covered in so many illustrations made with a wine-like color. The jersey will have green shorts with details made with white and wine.
A fantastic design from Adidas on this one.
3. Ghana’s Away Kit
Our west African brothers have also released their away kit for the Mundial. It was designed by big sports brand Puma and although the design looks very simple, it is also very classy.
The jersey has a dominant red color and a touch of green and yellow that shows Ghana’s national colors. The front of the jersey has a box-like design that houses the number of each player.
Some Ghanaians on social media have reservations about the jersey.
4. Germany’s Home Kit
Another bold design from Adidas and it is a thing of beauty. The shirt is predominantly white with a long rectangular patch across the center of the shirt creating a fine contrast and it will also house the player’s number, the national team’s badge, and the Adidas badge. The jersey will also have black shorts and white socks with black and red details.
The jersey also has clean gold detailing on various parts of the shirt and shorts.
5. Spain’s Away Kit
The color of the shirt is predominantly sky blue and it has a sort of art-decorative wavy style design just on top with another shade of blue. The short is blue also with red and yellow stripes. The red and yellow stripes are also on the shirt which represent the colors of Spain.
Another masterstroke design from Adidas.
