Summer 2022 transfer window
Summer transfers in the European football market officially opened on the 1st of June and some mind-blowing transfer deals have already been concluded. It is barely 2 weeks into the transfer period and you can bet that there will be more movements and shocking transfer deals.
Anyway, let’s take you through some of the already completed transfer deals:
1. Fabio Viera To Arsenal
Probably one of the quietest and fastest transfer deals this summer. Viera was signed from Portuguese giants FC Porto for a fee in excess of 40 million. He is a very resourceful midfielder that can play almost anywhere in the middle of the park. Good with set pieces and has a very good passing range. To be honest, a very good buy for Mikel Arteta’s team.
2. Sadio Mane To Bayern Munich
Yes, this one was one of the shocking transfers of the summer window. Liverpool failed to reach an agreement with him for a new contract, so he opted to leave and the Bavarian giants Bayern Munich came calling. The Bundesliga champions signed him for a fee upwards of 32 million.
He played 269 games for Liverpool, scored 120 goals, and recorded 38 assists. In some books, he is already a Liverpool legend.
3. Karim Adeyemi To Borussia Dortmund
One of the most exciting young talents in Europe right now. He was born in Germany to a Nigerian father and a Romanian mother hence the Yoruba name. Already representing the German national team in international football.
He was signed from the Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg for a fee of 38 million. He played 94 games for Salzburg, scored 33 goals, and recorded 24 assists. He was also nominated for the Golden Boy award this year.
4. Ryan Gravenberch To Bayern Munich
Another exciting young midfielder and one to look out for next season. Bayern Munich signed him from Dutch giants AFC Ajax for a fee of 25 million. He already agreed to join the Bavarian club even before the season ended and revealed that his former manager who is now in charge of Manchester United wanted him to come to United but he had given Bayern his word.
5. Noussair Mazraoui To Bayern Munich
It feels like Bayern Munich is snatching everybody up. Bayern signed Mazraoui as a free agent from AFC Ajax. He refused to sign a new contract with the Dutch giants and opted to leave. There were speculations of him joining Barcelona at a time but he eventually penned down his signature for Bayern. He is a very athletic and attack minded full-back.
