Nigerians are slang manufacturers; every now and then, new slangs surface and end up on every Nigerian’s lips. Slangs are basically informal words and expressions that are particular to certain groups of people.

If you are true son of the soil then you should know at least 5 of these slangs. Not to worry though, even if you don’t, we still got you:

 

1. You Wan Collect 

This is not a question. Use it to challenge a person’s audacity. The person addressed will wisely backtrack.

Use this to express loss in monetary strength. It perfectly portrays how hard your bank balance is gasping for air.

Quite similar to “e don red”, both points to a severe decline in monetary capacity.

This slang is used to dab on haters. Your friends and families can even grab their necks to demonstrate how much discomfort your enemies are feeling for the win.

Use it to ward off unnecessary pressure from people. Don’t let anyone make you feel inadequate abeg 🙄.

Nigerians have been known to possess different level of madness that are off the charts. Ment is the pidgin for craze.
