The enemy within!
Kamsi*, 27
My ex-best friend stole my fiancé. I was foolish to believe I could trust her, but she couldn’t help herself–she had to go in for the kill.
I met Obinna* on a dating app, and I purposefully kept him hidden for months. She was always inquiring as to when she would meet him. She even accused me of creating and fabricating him at one point. I caved in and invited her to come have supper with me, him and some other friends.
I could see he was taken aback the moment he set his eyes on her. Her beauty had the ability to enthrall any audience. In a way, I knew that it was game over for me when she joined us at the table. Throughout the evening, they flirted. Two of my other buddies even tried to come to my aid because they could see that the environment was sexually charged. They dragged me into the kitchen and offered to accompany her out, but I declined.
I’ve always been able to tell when I’m being beaten. In bed that night he continued to rave about how beautiful she was. He was gone a week later.
They’re currently living together, but I have a feeling she doesn’t really love him. She just tolerates him because she understands how much I still adore him. She tells our mutual friends that he’s turned into a love-struck dog.
I still have him as a Facebook friend, and I can’t stop myself from spying on him. He brought her to our favorite restaurant the other day, and it almost crushed my heart. Why is it that life is so unfair?
