To SAPA or not to SAPA?

3 guys shamefully submitted their experience with Nigerian women operating above their tax bracket. In this life, one must have money!

Emmanuel* (29)

We met at the bank during one of my lunch breaks and I don’t know what gave me the boldness to approach her as she looked high maintenance, or should I say, higher maintenance than the women I usually approach. After I had been toasting this girl for up to a month, she finally agreed to a weekend date.

On that fateful day, because I wanted to impress her, I took her to an expensive restaurant at Ikoyi – mind you, a restaurant that I had never been to previously but only heard about from friends. She ordered first and because I wanted to form posh, I ordered the same thing.

By the time we finished the meal, I realized just how far above my class this babe was from her lifestyle of traveling and spending, not to mention the ride she pulled up in to begin with. What killed me that day was when the waiter brought the bill and it was four times what I had budgeted. As I was busy thinking of who to call for more cash, this babe just swiped her card and cleared the bill.

We never spoke again.

I was invited to a friend’s proposal event and I started feeling somehow because I had no babe to go with. I quickly hopped on one of these dating apps and caught a fish that I didn’t realize at the time was a big fish. We sha went to the proposal together and of course, I decided to show her off like a proud man as I was proud of my catch regardless.

The problem started when she decided to stay at my yard, a place I really wasn’t proud of. I connived with my guy to lie to her that the place wasn’t mine but instead, I was maintaining it for a friend that had travelled. Having that on my conscience made it so much worse when it was my turn to visit her.

Her 3-bedroom crib in an upscale area immediately made me feel like I had failed as a man. This lady had all the tech, fancy decor and everything I would’ve wanted in my crib. She even agreed to pay for my Bolt back home and it was that moment that put the nail in the coffin. I stopped returning her calls and made silly excuses to not see her.

The truth is I could never date a lady doing better than me.

Ayoola, 27

It was during my NYSC days, I was posted to Abuja and you know as a Lagos boy with my own ride, I felt I could get any babe that came my way. One day after CDS, I came across a fine shortie hanging around an outdoor eatery. Our eyes jammed severally but I felt she was one of those hungry girls so I sharply commot face as a bad guy.

I parked my ride and decided to patronize the restaurant only for this babe to have the boldness to call me out for ignoring her stares, as if I could read her mind or something. I didn’t finish apologizing before she stepped out to get something she forgot in her car… which happened to be a 2020 GLA Benz. Omooo, I kala straight up and almost felt ashamed for my 2006 Toyota Corolla Sport aka Uber model.

She got back to the restaurant and I decided to approach her again and we got talking after much whining from my end. By the time we left, she paid for my order, her own, and food for two of her friends who came along. As if that wasn’t enough, we were both  heading the same way and decided to race – of course she smoked me beyond reasonable doubt.

I drove all the way home in shame.

Do things that will make you happy

Funny experiences. In this life, abeg money is important

    Wawu 😅

    Ehya😔😊

Guy,everyday no be Christmas they say!

You gat just do things that will keep you happy

I see nothing wrong with a lady being richer than a guy if they two have a connection. Everything needs understanding!

    The last person tho. Lmao

Understanding is key in every relationship!!! Bae is richer than me n we’ve been together for over 5years now n still counting 😊😊💯💯

Dating a lady that is richer should not be a problem, if only the guy knows what is doing and not spending above what he earns, but if the lady demand what you have let her know your level, if shr agree so be it, if she says no let her go. Simple

It’s really hard to keep up with a lady doing better than you. But I still believe that things can still work out.

Lesson learnt but really if a man knows what he is doing getting a lady more richer than him shouldn’t be a problem provided he knows what he is doing
I would rather be a blessing complimenting him

Most men feel all women are just after their money, forgetting that we got money of our own via legit hustle sef.

Honestly!! And they think they can get any woman they want🤦‍♀️
