O.B.O! Davido the Baddest!
It is no news that David Adeleke, better known as Davido, is one of Nigeria’s biggest artists and a household name in Nigeria and beyond.
The multi award winning singer recently sold out and subsequently shut down the London O2 Arena with his 5th March 2021 concert.

1. Davido’s nationality is Nigerian-American
The Fem singer, who was born in Atlanta, Georgia, enjoys dual citizenship. He spent his earliest years in Atlanta before returning to Nigeria where he grew up.
2. Davido is a Scorpio:
Davido was born on the 21st of November 1992 and his birthday falls under the Scorpio zodiac. Scorpio is the eighth astrological sign in the zodiac and those born from November 21 to November 22 fall under this sign.
3. Davido graduated from Babcock University:
His secondary school education was at British International School, Lagos. Upon completion of his secondary school, he returned to the United States (at the age of 16) to study Business Administration at Oakwood University, Alabama.
However, after a while he dropped out of Oakwood to pursue music full-time. After he returned to Nigeria in 2011, he gained admission to Babcock University. In 2015, he bagged an Upper Second Class (2.1) Honors degree in Music.
4. He is the last born:
Davido is the youngest child of his parents; Adedeji Adeleke and the late Vero Adeleke. He has an elder brother, Adewale Adeleke, and an elder sister, Sharon Adeleke.
His mother died in 2003 when he was just 10 while his father is a Nigerian billionaire, business magnate and the CEO of Pacific Holdings Limited.
5. Davido has three children:
The Dami Duro singer is the father of three adorable children–two daughters and a son. In May 2015, he welcomed his first daughter Imade Aurora Adeleke with Sophia Momodu. His second daughter, Hailey Adeleke, was born on the 9th of May 2017. Her mom, Davido’s second baby mama, Amanda, is an Atlanta-based model.
The youngest of OBO’s children is Ifeanyi Adeleke, who was born in October, 2019. Chioma Avril Rowland is the mother of his last son.
6. He released his debut album, ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ (O.B.O: The Genesis) in 2012:
Davido started working on his debut album in 2011 before eventually launching it in 2012. The album featured guest appearances from Naeto C, Ice Prince, B-Red, only to mention a few. The album won Best R&B/Pop Album at The Headies in 2013.
He has since then released two more studio albums; A Good Time(2019) and A Better Time(2020). As at November 2021, A Good Time was the most streamed African album of all time on streaming platforms and the first to cross a billion streams.
7. In 2021 Davido pledged ₦250 million to orphanages across Africa:
On the 17th of November, 2021, Davido challenged his ‘true friends’ to send one million naira each to his account, claiming that he wanted to clear his Rolls Royce from the port. Within 24-hours he had already raised 151 million naira.
In the end, a total of about ₦200million was realized from the crowdfunding donations. He then went on to top up that sum with ₦50 million of his own money–making it ₦250 million–and announced that he would be donating to orphanages in Nigeria to mark his 29th birthday.
