Quick fruit smoothie recipes you can try

If you have ever wondered if fruits can be blended together, you are in the right place! Smoothies are a visual confirmation that fruits can be blended together to make an edible and absolutely delicious drink. If you’ve been on the look out for healthy yet filling drinks then these fruit smoothie recipes are for you.

We will be sharing fruit combos that you probably have never considered before. Let’s get blending!

Basic Rules For Making Smoothies

Before we start blending fruits together, let’s go over a few basic rules for making smoothies:

  • Frozen fruits are always better as they thicken your smoothie but you can still make a wonderful smoothie from freshly sourced ones.
  • If you want to sweeten your smoothies; honey, sugar, date or maple syrup are good options.
  • Lastly, do not use undissolved granulated sugar. If you do not like dairy milk, plant-based milk like almond or coconut milk can do the job.

7 Fruit Combinations That Make Fantastic Smoothies:

1.  Banana Smoothie

First things first, bananas go well with every other fruit. So, you can make a plain smoothie with your bunch of bananas or add as many other fruits as you want.

Fruits you can matchmake with banana as a smoothie include mango, apple,  pineapple, pear, coconut and strawberry. Since, banana makes a thick and sweet base, you can forgo adding yoghurt or milk in your combo before blending.

2. Strawberry Smoothie

Allow me to shock you a bit; strawberry fruits are not as sweet as Hollandia strawberry yoghurt portrays them to be.

In order to make a nice strawberry smoothie that you will not end up doing away with, blend the strawberries with fruits like banana, pineapple and coconut water.

3. Mango Smoothie

Just like the banana smoothie, mangoes make a wonderful standalone ingredient for making  a smoothie too. You can choose to make your smoothie from just your (frozen) mangoes or by adding a bit of funk to it.

Additions like yoghurt, pineapple, pawpaw or coconut milk will add an extra zing that will make you smile from your first sip.

4. Creamy Pineapple Smoothie

As you can imagine, blending only pineapples might not be the best idea. So this recipe is for a balanced and creamy version of it. A blend of pineapples, coconut or almond milk makes a great smoothie.

Word of caution though; if you don’t trust yourself or your fruit vendor to select naturally ripened pineapples then skip this recipe. You most definitely will thank me for it.

5. Orange Smoothie

Let me guess, you are trying to imagine how an orange smoothie will turn out thick and not watery. Well, this recipe is a triple treat not a watery one. Have you tried blending orange, strawberry and yoghurt together before? Try it out and let us know what your taste buds say.

Please ensure you have removed all the seeds from your orange prior to blending. You can sweeten your smoothie with maple or date syrup too.

6. Watermelon Smoothie

Let’s make a fancy pink smoothie, shall we? To make your watermelon smoothie yummy and thick enough, blend it wih strawberries and yoghurt. That’s it.

7. Apple Smoothie

Apples are always in season so if sourcing apples for a smoothie recipe is not too pricey, try this out. You can make a plain smoothie with just your apples or spice it up with cinnamon.

However, if you want to take it a notch higher, try blending apples and avocados together. We leave the decision of adding yoghurt or sweetener to this recipe entirely up to you.

Do any of these recipes bring delicious thoughts to your head or are you already salivating? Start blending, then!
