What Christmas Movies are you watching for the holidays?
A lot of people do so many fun things with their loved ones during the holiday season and one such fun thing is most likely watching Christmas movies together. The good thing about Christmas movies is that they transcend time. In fact in my books, the older the better.
Anyway, it might be tough going through a whole catalogue of Christmas movies trying to get the best one to watch so we’ve taken the initiative to recommend 7 movies that you should add to your holiday watchlist.
1. Home Alone 1&2
The 90’s kids will be very familiar with these two movies because it was hands down one of the most popular Christmas movies at the time. The first was released in 1990 and the second in 1992.
Macaulay Caulkin was the child star of both movies.
2. Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey
This is another fascinating Christmas movie to add to your watchlist. It is a Christmas musical fantasy film and it was released in 2020. It stars Forest Whitaker, Keegan-Michael Key, and Phylicia Rashad.
It is available on Netflix, so you can just subscribe to the streaming platform to access it.
3. Operation Christmas Drop
It is a cheesy Christmas Rom-Com that you probably want to watch this one with your significant other. It was released in 2020 and stars Alexander Ludwig and Kat Graham. You’ll probably know Ludwig from Vikings, Bad Boys for life, and The Hunger Games.
This movie is also available on Netflix.
4. The Princess Switch
This Christmas rom-com was released in 2018. There have been 2 other sequels after this one but this one feels much more authentic than the remaining two. Vanessa Hudgens is the big star of the movie.
It is also available on Netflix.
5. Something From Tiffany’s
Another Christmas Rom-Com was released this year. It is available on Prime videos. It starred Zoey Deutch and Kendrick Sampson. There were other big stars in the movie like Chido Nwokocha (Tyler Perry’s Sistas), and Javicia Leslie (Batwoman series).
6. Violent Night
It is a Christmas Action Comedy movie and it is different from your regular cheesy Christmas movies. A movie about a badass Santa Claus was not on our Bingo card for this year but here we are. It was released this year and it stars David Harbour as the badass Santa, and John Leguizamo as the Villain.
It is still in the cinemas by the way.
7. Scrooge: A Christmas Carol
It is an animated Christmas musical Fantasy movie and it was released this year. It starred Luke Evans, Olivia Coleman, Jonathan Prysce, and James Cosmo.
It is also available on Netflix for this holiday period.
#Unsolicited is a segment for reviews and opinion pieces. This edition features seven Christmas movies you should be watching this holiday.
