This rain can’t stop your perfume’s shine!

Who does not enjoy smelling good? The problem many of us are faced with is not knowing how to make our scents last for a very long time, and this rain is not even making matters any better.

To make heads turn when you walk into a room, you need to let your scent announce you. This can’t happen if your scent wears off before you get to your destination. These are six steps you can follow to make your perfume last longer:

1. Spray Your Perfume When Your Body Is Wet

This is ironic, because we are avoiding getting wet in the rain. But in order to get your desired long-lasting scent, it is advisable that you apply a scented lotion when you come out of the bathroom on your wet skin. Then, you apply your perfume.

You do all of this to ensure your skin absorbs the perfume better.

2. Use An Eau De Parfum

This seems like a very obvious thing to do, but not everyone pays attention to the label on their perfumes. There are two major ones:  Eau De Toilette (EDT) and Eau De Parfum (EDP). EDPs are more concentrated than EDTs, which simply means they last longer on your body than EDTs do.

So, consider this when next you’re shopping for perfumes in this season.

3. Don’t Rub Your Wrists Together

You might have seen this on some Tiktok videos, but you thought it was a scam. Breaking news: it is actually not! Rubbing your wrists together after spraying your perfume only makes the top notes wear off faster than they should.

Now, imagine rubbing your wrists together before leaving home, and encountering rain on the way. That’s the end of you and your perfume.

4. Spray Your Clothes

If rain happens to show you shege any day, at least your clothes would still maintain your perfume scent, since you sprayed them before leaving your house.

You can also try spraying your inner wear as well.

5. Go For Sweet Notes

Rainy seasons require notes that won’t get weighed down by the wetness. Sweet and aquatic notes with a heavier base are perfect examples.

6. Target Your Chest

We know a lot of people emphasize spraying perfume on pulse points like your wrists, neck and behind your ears. What most people don’t know, though, is that your chest is the part of your body where your pulse is the strongest because it is the closest to your heart.

Plus, rain drops don’t easily find their way to your chest as easily as they do to other pulse points. Thank me later!
