Advice on avoiding kidnapping
Nigeria has one of the highest kidnapping cases in the world alongside other kidnapping capitals like Venezuela, Mexico, Yemen and Syria. We’ve heard the cries of our people and we’re here to say prevention is better than ransom. Keep the following tips in mind to avoid one chance.
Don’t go anywhere
Abi do they want to break down your door and carry you from your own house? Possible… but highly unlikely. Stay at home and reject the spirit of busy-body. Know this and know peace.
Ensure child lock is off before entering a vehicle
For those who are oblivious to what child lock is, it is like some marriages where you enter and can not seem to come out of. Okay, on a serious note, it is a small switch located by the side of a car’s door and is only visible when the door is open. Note that is this button is enabled, the car door cannot be opened from the inside.
Resist the urge to shalaye
People can’t act on information they don’t know. When you make small money, ignore that itch to announce yourself on social media. Thank goodness they have banned Twitter and might disconnect the internet altogether, that’s the best way to eliminate the need to brag online (*wink*)
Don’t let early morning rush carry your destiny
Some people can enter any form of vehicle just to get to their workplace in the morning – be it a car filled with suspicious looking men or a bus without any form of identification. These ones will manage a wheelbarrow with flat tire sef. I have to wonder if some people are just looking for who to pay ransom to.
Avoid Sienna
One of the easiest ways to secure a human is inside a Toyota Sienna, especially when tinted. This is the perfect vehicle to capture somebody because of those sliding doors that are the only exit from the vehicle and are not so easy to open. Kidnappers know this and use it to its full potential on unsuspecting people. It’s better to just throway your face and wait for another vehicle.
