Unite, O Compatriots!
For some time now, it has been claimed that Nigeria is on the brink of disunity, these are a few reminders showing us that together we stand, divided we fall.
For those in doubt of Nigerians unity, these 5 common goals that have united Nigerians will change your mind. One country, one love!
1. BRINGING IN APC
Whether it was a good or bad move is a debate for another day. The fact that Nigerians actually came out to vote en-masse shows that united we stand and the rest they say is history.
2. WHEN THEY ARE SHARING MONEY
They say money is the root of all evil but a Nigerian would disagree with such a statement even with their last breath. If they tell an average Nigerian to wait in a queue from morning till night, trust me only money can be their motivation. Be it an election rally for a corrupt politician or a stranger’s wedding ceremony, where money is being sprayed, they are present.
3. INSIDE CANADIAN VISA OFFICE
This is for team Japa-gang. We know you and you know yourselves. Even if the queue is as long as Nigeria’s problems, this is one place where Nigerians are gathered in an orderly manner to achieve a common japa.
4. FOR OWAMBE
What is a weekend in Nigeria without attending a party? Whether you know the celebrant or not is no problem, as long as you secure party jollof, your day is definitely made. It is a fact that 90 percent of Nigerians are at one party or the other dancing their stress away every weekend.
5. PAYING FOR OVERPRICED FOOD
Be it with friends or family members, we have a funny way of always thinking quality comes with cost but in Nigeria, that’s rarely the case. How does it make sense to pay over N3000 for just beans and bread that won’t pass N200 at your local bukka. Packaging kee you there. We keep overpaying and coming to social media to disturb the peace of others as if we aren’t the cause of our own problems.
Which of these can you relate to? Comment and share your own perspective on Nigerian unity!
#TheGoodStuff serves up some light reading with 2 shots of humor and a dash of sarcasm. Who says Nigerians can’t stand together? Whether it’s for the greater good or bad is another story.
