Cry me a river, Rapunzel!
According to Cardi B, onion juice is good for your hair. Now, I know this is not the ideal way to advise a person especially if you hated onions as a child or you are not a fan of Cardi’s or both.
However, I will suggest that we all lay our differences aside and focus on five reasons why onion juice is gospel for your hair.
1. It Helps Your Hair Grow
There is nothing cool about losing your hair in your prime when onion’s sulphur content can help you reduce the breakage and encourages the hair follicle to grow and it brings back your hair from wherever it went to.
If the odor is the issue, add lemon juice or castor oil to remove it.
2. It Moisturizes Your Hair
If you massage your dry hair with onion juice, it calms your scalp, moisturize and increase blood flow.
3. It Calms Itchy Scalps
Before you write onion off, have there been times where your scalp was so itchy you thought it was ‘craw craw’ infested. Not a pleasant memory, is it?
Good news because onion has anti-inflammatory properties that treats itchy scalps.
4. It Works For Dandruff
Onions calm aggressive things including beans and dandruff. Because onions have anti microbial and antifungal properties, it is the perfect remedy for fungus from dandruffs
5. It Reverses Grey Hair
Onion juice contains catalase that reduces hydrogen peroxide at the roots of your hair–a combo that is believed to reverse grey hair. Wahala for who no read Ababio.
2 teaspoons of lemon juice plus 3teaspoons of onion juice applied to the hair and scalp, then left for 30 minutes and rinsed out for with a mid shampoo is the way to go!
