Follow who know road o!

Friendships with co-workers may not be the ideal picture of real friendships but building it makes your work easier and gives you that ‘team player” badge the bosses won’t stop talking about, so the tribe says, yeah, go for it.

Who then are the co-workers with whom you should buddy up? These five:

1. HR

Human Resource managers have seen your industry inside out, and that makes them the exact person you need for your growth in that field.

With some strategic positioning ear and dear–plus thoughtful gifts at appropriate times–you shall have your name plastered on their minds. Should opportunities like promotions or better offers pop up elsewhere, guess who will come to mind? YOU!

Life na scope, don’t dull yourself!

2. Interns

One mistake we need to stop making is looking down on interns based on the belief that they are the only ones who gain in the work relationship. That’s far from the truth.

By teaching interns and being friendly while at it, you are also boosting your leadership skills. Not to mention that they may be your life saver on days that only the soul willeth.

3. Admin

This may seem off-track but if you have ever experienced confirm hunger at work (the type of hunger that has you staring at your PC with nothing coming to your head) then you will understand where we are coming from.

See, admins are always loaded–they attract food. Food comes to them. They know where food is. Don’t question it, just go with the flow and the fear of an ulcer.

4. Security Guards

This should not be up for debate because hey, they are human beings too, and treating them with respect is just a basic, human thing to do.

As a plus, when you are friends with these people, you tend to pick up some inside gist along the way which could alert you about surprises like breakfasts(sack letter), promotions, and other goings-on at work.

5. The IT guys

Scenes where your office gadgets become the weapons fashioned against you and you don’t even know what to ask google to help you with; IT people come to save the day at little or no cost.
