“Feed them with kindness”

Personally, I do not think an unwanted visitor deserves to have anything go down their throat, not even dust. But then, home training demands we feed visitors, welcome or not.

What if we told you there’s a way to please your ancestors and ensure visitors do not come without notifying you in advance? Check out these meal ideas:

1. Serve Them Food Without Meat, Fish, Or Even Egg

No protein for them. I repeat, no protein. Nigerians can not stomach being served meals without meat, fish or even egg. Once they ask why, tell them you did not know they were coming.

Trust us, they will not forget to notify you before coming next time. Remember to place any leaf on top for ‘serenren’.

2. Boiled Yam and Okra Soup

Ideally, the yam should be as hard as possible and the okra as ‘drawy’ as possible

This dish will ensure the said visitors never return to your place. Only serve it to your worst visitor ever.

3. Swallow and Beans

As you must agree, everyone needs a good purge from time to time. This dish is sure to give them a smelly time in the restroom. They will never see it coming.

Plus they should be grateful for the intracontinental experience–swallow and beans is a Congolese delicacy.

4. Water and Vibes

In our tradition, the first thing we offer visitors is a cup of cold water before bringing them the main menu. Only this time, it’s vibes they will eat.

Shock them!

5. Nothing

Because why bother serving an unwanted visitor any food, or even water? Why not leave them to starve till they get tired and leave your house.

There is nothing at home.
