Keep your money in your pocket!

When you’re stuck in traffic, like the type you’ll encounter in Lagos, where every car moves at a snail’s pace, you’ll probably want to purchase a sausage roll and a bottle of water to keep yourself going.

However, if you like buying goods in traffic because they are inexpensive, it is recommended that you refrain from purchasing specific products.

Here are five items you should never purchase if you’re stuck in Lagos traffic:

1. Pets

If you love puppies, birds and animal generally, buying a pet in traffic is not something you should do. For starters, you have no idea what illnesses the animals are carrying, and there is no way to possibly do a full health check while in traffic.

Just stick to the Pet Store!

2. Gadgets

While you’re stuck in traffic, chances that you will see people hawking gadgets like phones and chargers are pretty high; however, the likelihood of purchasing fufu or a bar of soap as a phone in traffic even is even higher.

If you don’t want to rejoice in traffic and cry at home, then resist the urge to buy any gadget while you’re in traffic.

Resist their mouthwatering deals!

3. Jewellery

Lagos traffic can be a mini-marketplace in and of itself, which is why you’ll find individuals selling anything from clothes to jewelry. It may be tempting to purchase “high quality” necklaces at giveaway prices, but best believe you may end up spending your money on phony necklace.

There are also people who sell wristwatches at ridiculous prices in the Lagos traffic. These wristwatches are usually not that expensive once you’re out of the traffic and are in an actual market.

4. Airtime

If you can recharge your airtime using USSD codes, your bank application, or an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) then you should definitely stick to that means. Many individuals have been scammed by fraudulent recharge cards.

If they scam you, MTN will not hear abeg. Be smart!
