Chris Brown x Nigerian collabos

90’s kids can’t deny growing up listening to Chris Brown’s music. When we weren’t crushing on him (everyone crushed at some point), memorizing lyrics and sticking magazine cutouts of him in our diaries and notebooks, we were trying to breakdance and be ‘cool’ like him.

Two decades later, over fifty awards and 9 studio albums since he broke into the music scene in 2002, C. Breezy still has us listening– and we can’t deny it, Chris Brown is a hit maker.

To celebrate his upcoming album and his new single Call Me Everyday which features our very own Starboy, Wizkid; we highlight four Nigerian artists that Chris Brown has collaborated with:

1. Davido

Chris Brown and Davido first blew our minds in 2019 with their single Blow My Mind. The two artists have been on a row since then, collaborating and giving us hits like Shopping spree, Tonight and Lower Body back to back.

Davido’s husky vocals and unique sound fused with Chris Brown’s vocals always give birth to magic. We can’t wait to see what they’ll cook up next.

2. Rema

Mavin Records singer and rapper Rema released his debut studio album, Rave and Roses, in March 2022. The 16-track album, features hits like Soundgasm, Calm down and even a Chris Brown collabo.

The sixth track , Time N Affection, which featured Chris Brown, was an album favorite and we think we might know why. Without a doubt, Rema’s music usually hits in all the right places, however Time N Affection’s rich Afrobeat/RnB fusion hit differently– something to do with Rema’s captivating verses and Chris Brown’s RnB spice.

3. Lojay

The single Monalisa produced by Sars was released by fast-rising singer and songwriter Lojay in June 2021. To say the very least, the song was a banger! The song’s smooth lyrics and catchy beat had Nigerians hypnotized. Everyone was singing it, dancing to it or making videos with it.

It’s little wonder why about a year later, Lojay announced that he’d be dropping a Monalisa remix that would be featuring Chris brown. Breezy’s amazing vocals give the song that extra pizzazz plus it’s not everyday we get to hear everyday we hear Chris Brown finessing pidgin English.

4. Wizkid

Starboy Wizzy happens to be the first Nigerian artiste that Chris Brown ever collaborated with. They first collaborated on Wizkid’s single, Shabba, which was released in 2016 and then again in 2017 on the song African Bad Gyal which was from his album Sounds From The Other Side.

Off of his upcoming album, Breezy, Chris Brown recently released Call Me Everyday. The well-received single was produced by Blaise Beatz and Tunez, and it features Wizkid. Chris Brown in a recent interview with BigBoy TV mentioned how he and Wizkid have been friends for about 10 years.
